Reading: Unit 2 Week 5- November 10th- 18th Phonics Story: Spiders Up Close pages 260-267 Main Selection: Anansi and the Talking Melon pages 268-293 Phonics Focus: Words with ce, ge, se and Possessives High- Frequency Words: call, enough, full, heard, until
Math: We will be using a hundred chart to find numbers that come before, after, and between. Examples: 45 is one before 46, 47 is one after 46, and 46 is between 45 and 47. We will also look at putting numbers in order from least to greatest, and work on finding patterns with numbers.
Science: This week we will continue working with Physical Science. We will be learning about Matter and the different states of matter. We will experiment of mixing matter and learn how we can change matter. Key Vocabulary Words: Properties: Some properties of objects are color, size, and shape. Matter: Anything that takes up space and has weight, States of Matter: solids, liquids, and gases. Solid: Has a size and shape of its own. Liquid: Take the shape of its container. Gas: Can change shape and size.
Religion:
This week we will continue to talk about making good choices and about being sorry when we make bad choices. We will take a look at the Ten Commandments and see how they can help us know right from wrong. We will learn about mortal and venial sins. Mortal Sin: A serious sin that separates us from our friendship with God. Venial Sin: A less serious sin. It weakens our friendship with God.

There will be no spelling this week. These words will be tested on Friday, November 21st:
