REVISED December 14, 2003
St. Leonard School
Students at St. Leonard School are learning a valuable lesson about recycling while earning free computer technology. They are participating in an empty laser and inkjet printer cartridge-recycling program through the FundingFactoryTM. FundingFactory encourages organizations to collect empty laser and inkjet cartridges from their community. Empty cartridges earn points, which are exchanged for over 7000 educational technology and recreation products. FundingFactory currently has over 17,000 schools, childcare centers, libraries and non-profits participating that are supported by 60,000 businesses including banks, insurance agencies, hospitals, office supply stores, grocery stores, etc. Local companies interested in demonstrating their commitment to education and the environment can participate in the FundingFactory Business Support Program. By adopting St. Leonard School, local business pledge their empty laser and inkjet cartridges to St. Leonard School. There is never a cost involved in participating and free, prepaid shipping boxes are sent to return collected cartridges. Maria Sander (School Committee Member) remarks on how simple it is for the community to participate. By simply saving empty cartridges and donating them to St. Leonard School, we help protect the environment and earn free computer technology. With over 275 million cartridges thrown away last year alone, it should be easy to meet our first year goal of 500 points for our classrooms. This program is part of www.fundingfactory.com. The mission of the FundingFactory is to enhance educational opportunities for students, especially as it relates to classroom technology. Through an integrated online suite of safe, free and effective fundraising programs, FundingFactory will meet its yearly goal of $100 million in computer technology for nationwide organizations.
